Object - landslide of loess plateau and mechanical descriptions of soils; purpose - evaluation of stability of slopes taking into account the features of their engineering-geological structure and development of recommendations on their stabilization; methods - experimental and theoretical, mathematical, statistical; novelty - for the first time at the slopes and near them there were founded the places of hidden coombs lying down in water-stop layers, overlapped with loess, diluvia and anthropogenic soi1s; subsoi1 water is unloaded in the coombs; results - the methods of study of prochnostnih descriptions of soils are offered by the methods of the long-lasting and structural cohesion; a new device for determination of the structural coupling by the method of rotatory cut is developed; the rise of the structural coupling of soil is proved by cementation; the experiment on determination of the tense-deformed state of soils at a rotatory cut and estimation of stability of landslide slope is conducted; it is inculcated at planning and building on slopes; industry - building.
