Essay

The epidemiologic characteristics of leptospirosis in Lviv region and clinical peculiarities of icteric forms of the disease were demonstrated. The clinical, biochemical, serologic, morphologic methods of patients' evaluation were used. The role of the nitrous bonds (NO2, NO2? and NO3?) and vitamins (С, РР, В1, В2, В6) in pathogenesis of disease were studied. Multifactor analysis demonstrated that six factors were independently associated with severity of leptospirosis: urea, leukocytes, thrombocytes, creatinine, vitamin PP in the blood and NO2 in the serum. They were included in multifactor model for prognosis of leptospirosis severity. Author elucidated that the low level of thrombocytes, high level of NO2? in the blood and level of encephalopathy - are important factors for prognosis, associated with the higher mortality rate in leptospirosis.
