The theoretical foundations and historical phases of insurance against industrial accidents was investigated. There are three stages in the development of the insurance industry in Ukraine and the world. Author formulated conceptual-categorical aid of research. A number of specific risks in the safety inherent mining industry of Ukraine was identified, statistical data on the level of injury were systematized and analyzed and its main causes were highlighted. Recommendations to improve the legislative framework of insurance against accidents at work in Ukraine were researched and developed. We analyzed the features of insurance against accidents at work on the materials of companies of Krivorozhsky basin, a current problem of existing systems and for its improvement. A number of methodical provisions on the effectiveness of insurance against accidents at work was proved, a methodology based on calculations according to the surveyed companies rated the effectiveness of the dynamics of insurance against accidents at production companies Krivorozhsky basin was investigated. The model of reforming the system of insurance against industrial accidents was designed and justified.
