Essay

The object were male after stomach resection due to complicated ulcer disease; the aim was to improve the treatment effectiveness of urogenital diseases based on study of the main links of pathogenesis and characteristic of urogenital system in late terms after stomach resection; the methods included clinical evaluation, laboratory and instrumental examinations, statistical methods; the novelty - for the first time complex analysis of the state of urogenital system in late terms after stomach resection was performed and their age, clinical presentation of ulcer disease, type, extend of stomach resection, and severity of postgatroresection disease were analyzed; the level of testosterone, peculiarities of lipid peroxidation, antioxidant system, and immune homeostasis were determined; main pathogenetic links of erectile dysfunction and chronic pyelonephritis after stomach resection were shown; as a result it was demonstrated, that stomach resection has an important influence on urogenital system; the essential role of proinflammatory cytokines, increase in lipid peroxidation, activation of enzymatic and lowering of nonenzymatic antioxidant activity in patients with urogenital disorders after stomach resection were found; the complex treatment of erectile dysfunction and chronic pyelonephritis with inclusion of antioxidants, polyunsaturated fatty acids compounds, anticytokine and immunomodulator substances was improved; results were implemented into clinical practice of therapy and gastroenterology departments of Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital and into pedagogical process for the 6-year medical students of Lviv National Medical University; the field is medicine.
