Essay

Object: eye contusion. Subject: morphometric data of retinas macular zone and optic disk nerve. Methods: visometry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, optical coherence tomography. There was revealed that that thickness of the retina in all external and central sectors of the macular zone of the injured eye increased significantly. There was also revealed reliable thickening of the peripapillary layer of the nerve fibers, increase of the optic nerve disc area. The criteria for prognosis of dystrophic changes in the retina and optic nerve in the remote period after contusion have been developed on the basis of revealed association of reliable data of optical coherence tomography in the early contusion period with results of clinical study of patients in the remote postcontusion period. Works results are introduced in Filatov Institute and Odessa Regional Clinical Hospital. Sphere of application: medicine, ophthalmology.
