Essay

The thesis examines the pianoforte creation by V.Borisov, an outstanding Ukrainian composer (1901 - 1987). It is studied in context of aesthetic-stylistic trends of the XX-th century music art in Ukraine as well as social cultural situation of that time. Of particular value in the study is to identify the aesthetic principles of the composer's creative work and to highlight in complex his creative legacy viewed primarily in aspect of his pianoforte creation.
