During the investigation process, the author conducted inventory research of lexical units that form lexical-semantic field of positive and negative assessment in three time lapses of German. Also, on the basis of complex study of syntagmatical ties, paradigmatic relationship, and etymological traits of the assessment of adjectives, the author determined extralingual and intralingual indices of semantic development of the word class under research.
