Kostyuk N. Surgical technique "tunnel trabeculopuncture" and "tunnel sinusosclerocleisis" in primary glaucoma

The dissertation is devoted to the issue of increasing the effectiveness of surgical treatment of open-angle and mixed-primary glaucoma. Two methods of surgical treatment of open-angle glaucoma "tunnel trabeculopuncture" (Patent of Ukraine №70211А that's 15.09.2004 y.) and mixed-primary glaucoma "tunnel sinusosclerocleisis" were developed by the author of this thesis. The proposed method of surgical treatment open-angle glaucoma "tunnel trabeculopuncture" has demonstrated a relatively low percent of intra and postoperative complications: hyphema was observed in 1,5% of the cases, choroidal detachment - in 3,1%. The proposed method of surgical treatment of mixed-primary glaucoma "tunnel sinusosclerocleisis" has also shown a relatively low percent of intra and postoperative complications: hyphema was observed in 9,4% of the cases, choroidal detachment - in 6,3%. It was established that the new developed methodology of the surgical treatment of open-angle and mixed-primary glaucoma allows achieving the normal level of IOP without an additional procedure of laser trabekulopuncture. The steady normalization of IOP was observed in 95,4% of the patients in 12 months after the "tunnel trabeculopuncture"surgery and in 96,9% of the patients in 12 months after the "tunnel sinusosclerocleisis". Saving of sight functions and acuity were observed in all operated patients.
