Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the actual problem of modern oncology - improvement of effectiveness of complex therapy and prognosis of disease outcome in gastric cancer (GC) patients. Algorithm for prognosing disease outcome and antiumor vaccine (AV) effectiveness in treatment of GC patients was developed and proposed for introduction into clinical practice. The base for AV application is identification of certain tumor phenotype, based on their biological activity, associated with favourable outcome of the disease. The best effect of AV application was seen among the patients with stage III-IV GG with p53-, EGFR-, Her-2/neu-, Bcl-2, b-catenin-, and VEGF-positive tumors with no dependence from E-cadherin and a-catenin expression.
