Object: writings of the Ukrainian poets dated between 1880 and 1899. Aim: to ascertain peculiarities of the Ukrainian versification from the 1880s to the 1890s in regard to metrics and rhythmic. Practical significance: teaching History of the Ukrainian literature of the last decades of the 19th century, Introduction to Literature Study; lecturing on literature theory; creating materials for the new academic, historical and theoretical, special courses, preparation of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Science, major papers for Master's degree, and graduation papers. Methods: formalistic method, comparative method, statistical computation.
