Essay

The criterion of geometric equivalence of Morse-Smale functions on closed 3-manifolds was proved using generalized ordered Heegaard diagrams. The realization theorem for the diagrams was proved and the number of nonequivalent functions on Heegaard surface of genus 1 with no more than 6 meridian intersections was calculated.
