Essay

This thesis investigates the problem of God existence and essence in the religious philosophy by E. Gilson. The analysis of creative stages and the structure of the religious and philosophical system of the French Thomism are researched in this context. The candidate for a degree determines the structure of the phenomenon "existence" by three aspects: transcendence, similarity and contingency. Natural "existence", according to E. Gilson, appears due to "another" subsistence, which is named God. Contingency of natural existence , finding acts of "essence" and "existence" there - all these testify to the first "pure act of existence" that is the reason for all natural being, sc. God. This distinction is really present in the actual existence of anything, but the essence of God, in accordance with the religious philosophy by E. Gilson, specifies only the conceptual distinction of these ontological acts in it. Thus, the Christian God in the Thomism by E. Gilson, is pure existence and its essence. As to the point of view of the candidate, all these let us develop the existential philosophical conception of God, which has a right to exist in the modern world, where the positive philosophy about natural and supernatural existence takes place.
