Alexander D. Religion in the context of the personality's ontological security

The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the religion phenomenon in the context of the personality's ontological security. The personality's ontological security represents the particular state of the functioning social structure agent, which allows him to realize his integrity and coexistence in the social world under the conditions of a crisis. It is proved that religion promotes the personality's ontological security in providing the constancy and order of the reproduction of social practices by the individual. These practices are determined in the thesis as the routine ones. They are also the mandatory attribute of social sphere structuration. The specificity of religion being the particular component of the personality's ontological security is determined. It has the integrated potencies of overcoming the dissolution of "Self" and world. A more detailed study reveals that the personality's ontological security, acting as an integrator of self, self-identity and intersubjectivity with the social aspects of vital activity - routine reproduction of social practices, is supported by the religious elements. They determine orientations of the personality in his or her commonness, concurrently overcoming an existential anxiety, which is inwardly peculiar to a man.
