Essay

The thesis deals with theoretical grounding of new approaches to efficient control of few-annual dicotyledonous weed species on sugar beet stands. Complex studies of the composition and abundance of weed species, dynamics of the process of weed infestation of fields, formation of weed mass, and of negative infestation of weeds on crop plants were conducted. Features of development of phase sensitivity of plants of dicotyledonous weed were studied. A rational scheme of protection of sugar beet stands from dicotyledonous weeds which guaranteed the reduction of their abundance by 95.7% was worked out. To avoid phase resistance in weed plants, sprayings with post-emergence herbicides must be cavicd out not later than the formation of cotyledon-2 trueloves. In the thesis, calculations of energetic and economic efficiency of sugar beet protection from weeds are presented.
