The dissertation is devoted to the problems of the appearance of the honest mistakes in testimonial evidence and also the tactics of their exposure and neutralization. The criminalistics essence of honest mistakes in testimonial evidence has been investigated and its own distinctive features have been separated. The kinds of the honest mistakes in testimonial evidence have been examined and their classification has been realized. The peculiarities of the appearance of the honest mistakes at the different stages of the evidence formation have been defined. The causes of the appearance of the honest mistakes has been determined, the bases of their division have been established. The algorithm of the diagnostics and exposure of the honest mistakes in testimonial evidence have been proposed and the system of the tactical methods of the neutralization of such mistakes has been formulated.
