Essay

Thesis provides the research work on the existence of song folklore of lemkos' settlers in a post-war period, that is from 1940 and till nowadays. On the base of the author's field materials, folklore song records, memories, collected from the lemkos' old-timers through 2006-2008, the deportation measures motion is lighted up in relation to the lemkos' population, their adaptation to the new socio-cultural conditions, the modern compact and dissipated lemkos' settlements are inspected in the Western part of Ukraine, genre-thematic description of the collected song folklore is given, modifying modern records are analysed as compared to the records of predecessors and on the whole transformation of repertoire tradition of lemkos', the forms of existence folklore in nowadays are considered, etc.
