Kravets A. Formation and perspectives of captive insurance in Ukraine

The thesis presents a research of theoretical and applied problems of the formation and perspectives of captive in-surance in Ukraine. A. Kravets developed a classification of Ukrainian insurance captives. The definition of "Captive insurance company" was adapted to Ukrainian insurance market. The conceptual approach to insurance captive for-mation developed. The main trends and ways of scheme insurance by insurance companies were investigated and a system of measures aimed on scheme insurance detection and the reduction of its scale was offered. The measures consist in insurance market monitoring and legal counteraction against scheme insurance. The research offers a meth-odic approach to national insurance captives identification that takes into account the main signs of a captive connec-tion between owners and insurers. In the thesis, A. Kravets suggests the concept of national insurance captive devel-opment that takes into consideration the foreign experience in using captive services and the analysis of captive activ-ity features in Ukraine.
