Essay

The thesis introduces a new approach to the comparative and typological study of the valency of the English and Ukrainian verbs of the thematic group of "the sensual sphere". The paper introduces methods for comparing valency relations of the analyzed verbs, describes invariant and variant features of the verbs in both languages, identifies and compares the prototypical structures of the analyzed group of verbs. It characterizes the contrastive peculiarities of the valency capacity of the thematic group of these verbs in the English and Ukrainian languages.
