Dissertational research is devoted to a problem of the theoretical and legal analysis of non-governmental control over activity of militia. In work the nature of non-governmental control is opened, its place in the general system of control activity is found out. It is analyzed spheres and forms of realization of non-governmental control in Ukraine. Classification of subjects and principles of non-governmental control over militia is developed, its basic directions are characterized, necessity of its restriction is proved. The international experience of non-governmental control over activity of police is investigated, its theoretical, normative and institutional aspects are opened.
