Essay

The manuscript describes the results of a comprehensive scientific study of the prevention of torture in Ukraine by means of Criminal Law and criminal nature. It considers the attitude of the state and society to torturing as a social phenomenon in certain historical periods of their development - from understanding it as a penalty to the complete elimination out of the public life in modern conditions. Social and legal characteristics of torture is given, it's negative consequences of physical, psychological and social nature are considered.
