Yurchuk O. Banking activity on the financial services market

The paper deals with essence of financial services, trends of development of global financial services market, peculiarities of activity of leading banks, evolution of Ukrainian financial services market, activity of its participants and role of banks. Principles of analysis of competitiveness and efficiency as criteria of banking activity were consolidated and elaborated. The dissertation establishes the essence of economic solvency index as an integral criterion that defines ability of a bank to operate steadily and develop dynamically. The paper developed principles for classification of domestic banks, determination of their rating and integrated level of economic solvency of banking sector. Finally, practical recommendations for application of these instruments are given to monitor and improve banking activity on the financial services market.
