Durnov Y. Organizational Legal Posts of the activity of the Ukrainian National Republic during the period of the Ukrainian Central Rada and Directorate (1917-1921)

The complex process, of establishing and improving the activity of the Ukrainian National Republic during the period of the Ukrainian Central Rada and Directorate of such law enforcement apparatus as militia is investigated on the basic of learning the archivist documents, publications in the media of researching period being based on the present methodological approaches to studies of historical legal phenomena of the Ukrainian revolution time. The legislative and other normative legal acts of regulation of organization and militia activities, its tasks in the sphere of maintenance of law and order and combating the criminality are analyzed, besides the specific features of construction and legal regulation of law enforcement agencies in the Western Ukrainian Republic were considered. The great attention is paid to the normative creative activities in the Ministry of internal affairs in the period of Directorate when the organizational legal posts of the militia activities were elaborated actively. The organizational efforts of the government and the Ministry of internal affairs of the Ukrainian National Republic of researching period were elucidated concerning the creation and drawing up the social formations ("Vilne kozatstvo", national self-defence, village foremen, etc) into maintenance of law and order and combating the criminality and activities, provision of their interaction with the militia forces.
