Research object. Processes of forming and way of realization of public industrial policy in industry with the of long duration cycle of production. Research purpose. Theoretical ground of principles of forming of industrial policy of the state in the conditions of transformation processes, exposure of features of providing of development of industries with the of long duration cycle of production, development of concrete suggestions, forms and methods of practical realization of industrial policy of the state and theoretical ground of facilities and mechanisms of providing of successful development of shipbuilding industry of Ukraine. Research methods. Method of analysis of the systems; historical and logical methods; comparatively-legal method; calculation-structural method; design method. The scientific value of research results consists in opening and ground of theoretical bases and principles of forming of public industrial policy, exposure of specific of its development in relation to shipbuilding industry of Ukraine. Practical value of the got results. The conclusions considered and formulated in work can have the practical use in development and realization of public industrial policy on the whole and to shipbuilding industry, in particular. The offered changes to the existent legislation can improve the legal field in relation to stimulation of development of shipbuilding industry. A scientific novelty consists in development oriented strategic sending of development shipbuilding industry of Ukraine to the period to 2020 year and principles of structural changes in shipbuilding industry, coming from the analysis of structural alterations in the leading countries of the world; the nomenclature of priorities is offered on the construction of courts for the Ukrainian shipbuilding enterprises and concrete directions of the having a special purpose programs for shipbuilding industry of Ukraine; the mechanisms of increase of efficiency of the use of potential of shipbuilding industry of Ukraine are improved through the use of leasing in the process of construction and realization of courts, use of method of the "accelerated depreciation" for shipbuilding enterprises, creation of technological parks which must provide the proper innovative level of production of enterprises of shipbuilding industry, and also shipbuilding holdings. Drawn on the results of dissertation research and taken into account Committee of Supreme Rady Ukrainy on questions of national safety and defensive; utillized Ministry of industrial policy of Ukraine. Conclusions and results of researches are utillized in the process of teaching in the State institute of training of personnels, and also at writing of methodical recommendations, train aids.
