Object - the interactions of clamping beats of the centrifugal chipper with chips and technological methods for hardening steel. Aim - improving of an operational performance of centrifugal chipper by hardening of its clamping beats a high-speed friction. Methods - theoretical foundations of contact interaction of bodies with high rates of their mutual displacement, mathematical planning of experiment, statistical treatment of results, automatic microindentation, metallographic analysis, electron temperature's determination, electron-optical method. Scientific novelty: the first time on the basis of established patterns of interaction of the working surfaces of clamping beat chips formed from a technological requirements for the construction beat with hardening of their working surfaces; developed by the discrete method of hardening high-speed friction using high-pressure and low feed rate; proposed a new way to create downforce tool disk when hardening high-speed friction; coefficients of regression equations, which determine patterns of change in the thickness of the hardened layer by using high-pressure at the site of contact, accompanying the filing, and low rates of feeding were determined.Results: the technological order of production clamping beats of centrifugal chipper, from normalized steel 45, with the strengthening of the working surfaces of high friction was devised; the increase of wear surface of the material clamping beats centrifugal chipper hardened high-speed friction was established; developed terms of reference for projecting the equipment for hardening the working surfaces of clamping beats by 45 steel high-speed friction. The level of implementation - implementation of the devised regimes of hardening high-speed friction working surface clamping beats at the company, confirms their effectiveness and reliability of the findings of the research.
