Object of investigation: heavy metals and other chemical elements in natural complexes of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve and adjacent territories within the Chornohora massif in the Ukrainian Carpathians; subject of investigation: geochemistry of heavy metals and other chemical elements; objectives of investigation: to identify patterns of heavy metals and other chemical elements distribution in the natural complexes of the Chornohora massif at the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, and to determine geochemical characteristics of natural and technogenic landscapes; methods of investigations: emissions of fire photometrics, atomic-absorbing, potentiometric; practical value: the degree and character of territory pollution is identified; the intensive migration of heavy metals and other chemical elements within forest logging sites is investigated; basic sources of technogenic pollutions are identified; characteristic features of toxic elements' impact on the geochemical environment within Rakhivsko-Tysianskyi fault are discovered; scientific innovation: patterns of heavy metals and other chemical elements' together with their movable forms distribution in soils, water and some plant species in subalpine, middle and low mountain vegetation zones of the south-western part of the Chornohora massif at the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve are discovered for the first time; degree and intensity of technogenic impact on geochemical processes for heavy metals in a system "soil-plant" are determined. A direct correlating connection between the heavy metals' content in soils and their content in plants is determined.
