Osadovska I. Remote results of valve sparing operations in type A aortic dissections

Dissertation is dedicated to the problem of surgical treatment of aortic valve pathology in type A aortic dissection. Possibilities to improve the results of operations on the reason of aortic valve pathology in proximal aortic dissections by the use of valve sparing operations were studied. Valve sparing operations were performed in 98 patients with aortic dissections of type A and aortic valve pathology. In 134 patients with this diagnosis operations of aortic valve replacement were performed. In 40 other patients of the studied group ascending aorta dissection occurred with an intact aortic valve. Peculiarities of the remote period in patients with type A aortic dissections and aortic valve pathology, who were operated upon with the use of a different methods, were studied. Causes of complications in the remote period and of lethal events were analyzed. Indices of survival of operated upon patients with type A aortic dissections and aortic valve pathology were studied. Obtained data evidence, that valve sparing operations reformed on the reason of aortic valve pathology in type A aortic dissections are characterized by good remote results and that they permit to improve patients survival and quality of their life.
