Object of researches: reinforced concrete strengthening of soil dam slopes; purpose - the assessment of the technical state of concrete reinforcement committed for the slopes of the earth dams, which have been operating for a long time as well as the development of constructional and technological methods of its restoration; methods - literature analysis, field observations of the technical state, laboratory researches, statistical analysis of findings, formulation of conclusions and recommendations; results - 1) technique for specifying of technical state of concrete reinforcement for the soil dam slopes has been suggested; this technique was applied during upstream dam diagnosing at Kremenchug hydropower plant and can be used at the other hydropower plants; 2) main relevant damages of reinforced concrete strengthening of soil dam slopes were determined and their effect on the operating conditions were identified; 3) there were detected physical and mechanical properties of the concrete used on reinforced concrete slabs that have been operating over a long period of time (over 45 years); novelty - the technique specifying of technical state of concrete reinforcement committed for the soil dam slopes has been improved by means of instrumental diagnostics; general schemes of caves formation inside the foundation of reinforced concrete slabs used for strengthening have been proposed and their influence on the slabs stressed state has been identified; the criteria for evaluation of technical state of reinforced concrete slopes strengthening performed for earth dam slopes have been suggested; constructional and technological methods have been developed in order to restore operational conditions of concrete reinforcement committed for the soil dams of hydraulic facilities; it is inculcated - the results of researches have been introduced while renewing concrete reinforcement of soil dam slopes at Kremenchug hydropower plant. The recommendations "Assessment of the technical state of reinforced concrete strengthening committed for hydraulic facilities being under operation and methods of operational conditions restoring", that have been worked out with the assistance of A.V. Girsky, include the results of his dissertation. These recommendations were used by SPE Tehnopolis "Ekoindustriya" in the process of developing of industry documents on investigation and improvement of hydraulic facilities performance indicators.
