Essay

Redistribution of lectin receptor sites in rat kidney during postnatal morphogenesis was investigated on 78 fnimals with a set of 22 lectins, including 5 new lectins purified from fungi. Diabetic nephropathy was assosiated with the enchanced expression of DGal and DGalNAc determinants, reduced reactivity of mannoso-, fucoso- and sialoglycans, increased lectin labeling of brush border of renal tubules.
