The process of development and transformation of federalism's ideas in the historical conceptions of famous East-Slavonic historians and social political figures of the second half of the XIX-th century has been researched. From the position of scientific logic correlation and differences in the development of federalistic statement concerning the historical past of Slavonic people of the Ukrainian and Russian national historiographies have been determined.
