Trofimenko M. Orthodontic treatment of 6-9-year-old-patients with pathological functions of swallowing and speech.

The data of morphofunctionl state of dentomaxillary region of 6-9-year-old children have been considered in the dissertation, the peculiarities of occlusion and dentition conditions with dentomaxillary abnormalities, which are accompanied by pathological tongue position during swallowing and speech have been determined, the method of estimation of tongue shape and pathological tongue position during swallowing and speech has been elaborated, and the effectiveness of using of elaborated complex of curative and preventive measures for treatment of patients with dentomaxillary abnormalities related with pathological tongue position during swallowing and speech has been substantiated and proved clinically. Elaborated method of correction of pathological tongue position during swallowing and speech, which includes the performing of controlled complex of myogymnastics exercises for lingual muscle with the using of special device for myogymnastics increases the effectiveness of dentomaxillary abnormalities treatment, which accompanied by pathological tongue position during swallowing and speech.
