Petrychko N. Illegal gambling: criminal-legal and criminological research

The dissertation presents complex and system research of criminal-legal and criminological issues connected to illegal gambling. The paper discloses legal nature, notion and essence of illegal gambling, it contains grounding of its social danger. Experience of criminal responsibility for illegal gambling is studied in its historical and foreign aspects. Criminological characteristics of crimes connected to illegal gambling is presented, so the following issues are determined in this connection: their state and tendencies; specific features of criminal and victim of the considered crimes; preventive measures. Peculiar features of qualification of illegal gambling are defined according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The need to establish separate kind of criminal responsibility for illegal organization or promotion of gambling, lotteries or drawings and creation of financial pyramids is grounded. The conclusions are drawn and propositions are formulated and directed to the improvement of criminal responsibility and criminological measures connected to illegal gambling.
