The dissertation is dedicated to the research of the ethnical communities as the subjects of political culture forming in modern Ukraine. The analysis of main approaches to the study of ethnic and cultural processes and ethnical communities as the subjects of political culture forming in modern Ukraine, peculiarities of their influence on the making of modern domestic political and cultural space is made. The author has suggested the criteria of the definition and classification of the main roles of ethnical communities in the formation of political culture. The following could be such criteria: social and political status; culture features and level of ethnical and social development of the ethnical community; the possibility of ethnical communities influence on the political environment and forming of political culture. On the basis of this criteria, the author has determined the main political roles of the ethnical communities, namely: mobilization, forming, integrative, protective. The features of the polyethnical structure of the Ukrainian community interactively with forming of the domestic political culture are analyzed. The main characteristics of the ethnical and social subjects, which influence the forming of the political culture in Ukraine - relatively stable, unstable, changeable are determined. The interaction of ethnical and social components of the ethnical and social subjects is analyzed and mentioned, that the social characteristics are more movable, mobile and changeable, so they interact more actively with the political environment through the mediation of political culture.
