The dissertation is devoted to the study of peculiarities of the phraseological microsystem "Character traits of a man" in Ukrainian and English languages. The achievements of the modern psychology, anthropological linguistics and linguistic culturology are widely used in the research poper. In comparative ideographic aspect the thematic groups of phraseological units 'Character traits of a man in relation to the work', 'Character traits of a man in conception to me - another people', 'Character traits of a man in conceptions to self' are characterized. Some factors that influence on the filling of language's phraseological microsystem are analysed.
