The dissertation focuses on the study (by quantitative and statistical methods of data analysis as well as by a psycholinguistic test) of structural, lexical-semantic and connotative peculiarities of phraseological units with colour terms in the English language. Special attention is paid to the usage of colour terms as compounents of phraseological units different according to types of reconsideration and structure, to lexical and semantic compatibility of colour terms as compounents of phraseological units.
