Essay

This research determines the place of such predicates among other thematic classes of predicates. Their differential features are found out. The classification of verbal predicates expressing destruction is suggested, their semantic subclasses, groups and subgroups are singled out and systematized. Semantic and syntactic peculiarities of the investigated predicate constituents in each of the contrasted languages are revealed. The derivational potential of the predicates expressing destruction is also established.
