Essay

Basic features of the electrochemical formation of porous silicon with predictable optical-luminescent properties were established. A non-destructive ellipsometric method for determination of material porosity level was proposed. A model of visible photoluminescence of porous silicon was proposed on the basis of complex investigation of chemical surface composition and photo-, electro, cathode-luminescence properties. The influence of electric field on the nature of photoluminescence spectra of porous silicon was revealed. Physical and chemical conditions for improving the stability of the photoluminescence of porous silicon were substantiated.
