The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the creative work of the first American poetess Anne Bradstreet. The novelty of it lies in the fact that it is the first step of Bradstreet's interpretation in Ukrainian literary criticism. The analysis of critical material resulted to a new opinion toward Anne Bradstreet's literary achievements. Her poetry and prose of different creative periods are the material for illustration of writer's literary evolution, stages of her creative work and its peculiarities. The research focuses on such features of Bradstreet's creativity as experiment with modes and genres, competent use of mixture of different fictional means typical for ancient, medieval, renaissance and baroque fiction. The investigation showed that Anne Bradstreet played an important role in American literary process of the XVII century not only by her feminine views but the variety of her own genre-stylistic means, which enriched the whole American puritan literary heritage.
