Essay

New findings of the studies on the kinetics of the damage accumulation in the metal materials by the scatter of hardness characteristics under cyclic and static loading were obtained. A new device for measuring the hardness of the specimens directly in the process of loading was designed. In compliance with the goals of investigation the device characteristics were improved and it resulted in achieving the required accuracy in the experimental results. The influence of the level of stresses in the material on the hardness and parameter characterizing the scatter in its characteristics is shown.
