Object - the regularities of formation of high yields of knob celery, increasing the selenium content in the cash crops due to the optimization of mineral nutrition. Purpose- determine the optimal parameters selenium content in soil and its influence on the nutrient regime, evaluation of productivity of knob celery in the application of selenium depending on the level of mineral nutrition. Methods - field experiments, laboratory tests, methods of mathematical statistics. Theoretical results - determined the effect of doses of selenium on the background of fertilizers on the dynamics of mobile content in the soil of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, the activity of soil enzymes and selenium under knob celery, studied the effect of doses and ratios of fertilizers on the content of main nutrients in bodies of knob celery; found the effect of selenium and fertilizers on the formation of root crop of celery and indicators of its quality. Practical results - recommended the fertilizers system for knob celery, taking into account its biological characteristics for the Left-Bank Forest Steppe conditions of Ukraine, which allows us to obtain roots yield 35-42 tons / hectare. Novelty - first time on a typical heavy loam chernozem for the Left-Bank Forest Steppe of Ukraine characterized the effect of different doses of selenium on the background of mineral fertilizers, different types and combinations of fertilizers on background of selenium, ways of it application, and also the doses and ratios of mineral fertilizers on soil nutrient regime and selenium content. Specific interaction of selenium with different types of fertilizers is revealed, analysis of its impact on productivity and the accumulation of this microelement by products. Degree of application - the main results of researches have been implemented in the Limited Liability Company "Nіka", private agricultural enterprises "Melnikov" and "Nove Zytya" of Valkovsky district of Kharkiv region an area 1 hectare. The field is agriculture.
