Zavoloka O. Neurotrophical changes of the cornea and their medicamentous correction in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy

Object: diabetic polyneuropathy. The purpose: to establish clinical duration peculiarities and to offer the new method of treatment of neurotrophical changes of the cornea in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy. Methods: confocal microscopy, biopachymetry, algesimetry of the cornea, autokeratotopography, tear production research, visometry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, statistical methods; confocal tomograph HRT II with cornea modul RCM, biopachymeter, algesimeter Radzichovskogo, autokeratotopographer. Scientific information is specified that the indexes of the neurotrophical state of the cornea (corneal nerve fibre density, haptic sensitivity, hexagonal endothelial index of the cornea as well as basic tear production and tear film break-up time) diminish with the rise of weight of diabetic polyneuropathy, that leads to the increase of frequency of neurotrophical keratopathy. The new methods of diagnostics of corneal diabetic neuropathy and form of diabetic retinopathy in case of opacificated optic media are offered for patients with diabetes mellitus on the basis of exposure of morphological corneal nerve changes. The new complex method of treatment of corneal diabetic neuropathy is offered.
