Essay

This thesis focuses on developing a technology of enhancing the operational durability of machine parts by renovating the work surface. The factors and types of spline joint damage are summed up. It is found out that in the exploitation process the following defects emerge: service wear of chocks and seals bearing necks, service wear and breakdown of splines, shaft deformation. The methods of spline joint and shaft repair are considered. The main method of the worn layer compensation is coating by fusing. A technique of evaluating the wear of splines is developed.
