The objects of research - garden tortrix, sex pheromones, insect growth regulators, insecticides. Purpose - support and improvement of the protection of apple plantations from leaf - phyllophages on the basis of their biological characteristics and application of environmentally safe ways to limit the number in the foothills Crimea. Methods: laboratory, laboratory and field tests, mathematics and statistics. Scientific novelty - current conditions the species composition of leaf - phyllophages of Lepidoptera in apple orchards. The first time in this area for apple revealed 2 types of leaf - Choristoneura diversana Hb. and Exapate congelatella Cl. Phenology and especially the dominant species of leaf damage are specified depending on biotic indicators. The species composition of entomophagous insects and their importance in regulating the number of leaf - phyllophages. The influence of modern insecticides, insect growth regulators and biological agents on parasites and predators. Studied the initial and residual toxicity of chemicals on Trichogramma. Unsubstantiated and improvement of the protection of apple orchards, depending on the complex Tortricidae, which includes the use of modern insecticides with different modes of action in optimum line.
