Object: short stories by M. Khvyljovyi ("Blue November", "Remote corner", "In the out-of-the-way place", "I (Romantics)", "Arabesques", "Lilyuly", "The Mother", "A Sentimental Story") and W. Faulkner ("A Rose for Emily", "Brooch", "That Evening Sun", "Delta Autumn", "Red Leaves", "Wosh" and so on). Aim: revelation of typological concurrence and special features in psychopoetics of Faulkner's and Khvyljovyi's short stories. Practical values: university courses on American and Ukrainian Сomparative literature studies, special courses on Faulkner's and Khvyljovyi's works' studies. Methods: typological, hermeneutical, philological analysis.
