The thesis is devoted to the research of physiology-biochemical parameters of oxidative stress and activity of antioxidant defense system of Carex hirta L. and Faba bona Medic. (Vicia faba L.) plants under oil contamination of soil. For adaptation to deterioration of air, water and mineral feed conditions in oil contaminated soil bean and sedge plant form a powerful rootage. The heigh and dry matter production of aboveground parts was reduced in contaminated soil for both examined plants after 30 days. Oil contamination stimulates the formation of nitrogen fixing nodules on bean roots.
