The thesis offers a theoretical foundation for the understanding of the principles and factors of ar-ticulation functioning in a musical piece. In the rein of the acoustic and physiological approaches the dis-sertation clears up the notion of musical articulation and feature. The concept of musical articulation is treated with respect to the communicative function realized by musical articulation. The musical articula-tion is defined in the system of musical modulation. The notions of articulation model and articulation result are treated in the system articulation model ? articulation ? articulation result. The dissertation discusses the methods of accordion musical articulation varying in accordance with the genre dramaturgy of a musical piece.
