The dissertation deals with a set of memoirs for the history of Eastern Galicia during the First World War. The information relating to the history of war and everyday life in the region is reviewed. The process of creating and publishing memoirs is researched, the extent of their representation and the role of sponsors of sources in the described events are ascertained, the memoir information is analyzed, and an attempt to verify it has been made. This dissertation uncovers the role of memoir literature in studying the major military operations in the territory of Eastern Galicia, as well as everyday life.
