Abrahamovych U. Age Peculiarities of the Parameters of Metabolic Homeostasis and Heart Rate Variability of the Operated after Gastric Resection for Ulcer

Object - complications in the remote period after gastric resection for gastroduodenal ulcer in adults, middle-aged and elderly people form the object of the investigation. The aim is to improve the efficiency of diagnostics and treatment of operated adults, middle-aged and elderly people basing on the study of the peculiarities of metabolic homeostasis parameters and heart rate variability in the remote period after gastric resection for ulcer. Research methods are represented by a complex of clinical, laboratory and instrumental investigations, among which, apart from the usual ones, the biochemical methods for determining the lipid peroxidation (tiobarbiturate acid-active products) and the activity of antioxidative system (catalase) have been used together with the simultaneous analysis of carbohydrate (lactate, pyruvate, lactate and pyruvate index), lipid (non-esterified fatty acids; b-lipoproteins) and protein (pseudocholinesterasis) metabolisms, cell membrane damage index as well as the determination of heart rate variability as a vegetative nervous system marker. The result of the investigation lies in the ascertainment of these parameters depending on the age of the operated. It gave a possibility to reveal their specificity, which is the result of age changes combined with the influence of surgery complications upon them. The novelty consists in the identification of the specific changes in metabolic homeostasis parameters and in the condition of vegetative nervous system evaluated on the basis of the investigation of heart rate variability in the remote period after gastric resection for complicated gastroduodenal ulcer. The given changes are the result of natural age changes combined with the influence of surgery complications. On the basis of this improved principles of their treatment have been suggested and introduced into a set of medical institutions as well as into research, teaching and methodological processes; industry - medicine.
