Essay

The transformation of the laser beam wavefront reflected from the surface with inhomogeneities is theoretically and experimentally considered. The two-channel wavefront scanner that analyses the wave reflected from the tested sample for two orthogonal polarizations is considered. The mentioned modification is constructed to separate the phase shifts, connected with relief inhomogeneities and local changes of the surface refractive index. It is theoretically shown that the refractive index sufficiently influences the reflection index of orthogonal components.
