The object is novels by Ch. Dickens, W. M. Thackeray, Ch. Bronte, E. Bronte, D. Defoe, H. Fielding, T. G. Smollette, L. Stern. The aim is to expose poetic, cognitive-semantic relations of the Victorian novel titles with other elements of the text poetics.. The methods are cultural, stylistic and literature approaches. The thesis concentrates on the analysis of the poetic, semantic and stylistic aspects of the Victorian novel titles, title-final complexes and the problem of the 18th century literary traditions inheritance. The title models of the Victorian novel are studied. Their origin in the English literature is revealed in order to clarify their artistic function. The major 19th century novels by Ch. Dickens, W. M. Thackeray, Ch. Bronte, E. Bronte are under consideration in the dissertation. They are compared with the 18th century novels by D. Defoe, H. Fielding, T. G. Smollette, L. Stern. Such a comparison allows us to trace the evolution of the title-final complex in the process of literary epoch alterations. Application sphere is training.
