Zabrodina I. Apple blossom weevil in the eastern Forest Steppe of Ukraine. Biology, ecology and improvement of integrated protection elements

The protection of apple-trees plantations from apple-blossom weevil. The specification of species composition of Curculionidae, biology and ecology of apple blossom weevil, the determination of its quantity and harmfulness dynamics in the eastern forest-steppe of Ukraine as well as the improvement of apple-tree integrated protection elements in industry plantations. The route, field, laboratory-field, laboratory, mathematical statistic, calculation methods have been used in the research. The species composition and seasonal dynamics of Curculionidae quantity have been estimated, the biology, ecology and harmfulness of apple blossom weevil have been studied, the complex of its entomophages has been determined and some elements of apple-tree integrated protection have been improved, beetles density during the period of summer diapause and wintering under the dead bark per 1 sq. m of stem, skeleton branch and topsoil has been determined, calculations for 1 apple-tree have been done that gives possibility to forecast the apple blossom weevil quantity next year. The efficiency of applying insecticides has been found. The results of the research have inculcated in the farm "Svitanok" located in Pervomajsk district of Kharkiv region.
